Heightened global competition, market transparency, labour mobility, global capital flows, and instantaneous communications are concentrating management’s efforts within most companies on something that, in the past, it happily avoided: change. Today’s successful organisations are in fact those that just keep moving all the time.
When implementing changes the most common issues quoted by Managers are not related to design or technology or indeed a lack of vision or understanding of the market place. The most common barrier to success is a lack of appreciation of the people side of change. This therefore impacts on the success of change.
Unfortunately, many Managers do not appreciate their role in managing the people side of change until after resistance impacts the success of their change. This presents them with an unfamiliar challenge as for any change to succeed Managers and Leaders must have an intimate understanding of the human side of change management — the alignment of the company’s culture, values, people, and behaviours — to encourage the desired results. Value is realized only through the sustained, collective actions of people (employees) who are responsible for designing, executing, and living with the changed environment.
Many Managers undergoing changes within their organisations are concerned about how people will react, how they can get their team to work together as well as how they will be able to lead and involve their people.
This year’s Annual FHRD’s Conference and Exhibition will in fact address this theme: Change for Success: Maximising people’s potential
The foreign and local speakers at this conference who are experts in their respective fields will delve into the various aspects of the conference theme especially how people’s potential can be maximized for change to be successful.
An exhibition of HR services and products is also being set up along this Conference. It is a unique opportunity for all delegates to discuss business solutions face-to-face with these providers.
Surely you should not be missing this conference!
