World Class Leaders share the latest innovations in HR at the
CIPD's Annual Conference and Exhibition

CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition, 16-18 September 2008, Harrogate
International Centre

Four high profile HR directors from national and global
organisations are appearing at this year's Chartered Institute
of Personnel and Development's (CIPD) Annual Conference and
Exhibition in Harrogate. They will be interviewed by one of the
UK's leading newscasters, Jon Snow from Channel 4 News. In a
discussion focusing on the strategies that enable HR to sit at
the heart of business, David Smith from Asda, Liane Hornsey from
Google, Alex Wilson from BT and Satish Pradhan from Tata Sons
will provide delegates with fresh insights into the latest
developments in the area.

Regarded as the single most influential people management event
in Europe, this year's conference also features a line-up of
industry gurus and thought leaders delivering presentations, workshops
and interactive Q&A sessions where delegates will be able to get
under the skin of the major HR issues facing businesses today. Case
study organisations include: The Coca-Cola Company, Prudential
plc, Virgin Mobile, the BBC, Cancer Research UK and the Department
for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Speakers at the event this year include:
* Carolyn McCall, chief executive, Guardian Media Group plc
sharing her views on the entrepreneurial leadership necessary
to survive and thrive during a time of economic turmoil;
* Octavius Black, co-founder of The Mind Gym on creative thinking
and how to use the mind in order to get more out of the workplace;
* Ben Bryant, professor of Leadership and Organisation at the
Institute for Management Development (IMD) sharing his belief that
large organisations should facilitate leadership effectiveness; and
* Tal Ben-Shahar, lecturer at Harvard University, conveying the
importance of embracing "Positive Psychology" in the workplace.
