CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition in Harrogate

This year's conference and exhibition combine to form the
single most influential people management event in Europe. The
conference features a line-up of industry gurus and thought
leaders delivering presentations, workshops and interactive
Q&A sessions where delegates will be able to get under the
skin of the major HR issues facing businesses today. Case
study organisations include: The Coca-Cola Company, Prudential
plc, Virgin Mobile, the BBC, Cancer Research UK and the
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Speakers at the conference this year include:
* Carolyn McCall, chief executive, Guardian Media Group plc
sharing her views on the entrepreneurial leadership
necessary to survive and thrive during a time of economic
turmoil;
* Octavius Black, co-founder of The Mind Gym on creative
thinking and how to use the mind in order to get more out
of the workplace;
* Ben Bryant, professor of Leadership and Organisation at
the Institute for Management Development (IMD) sharing his
belief that large organisations should facilitate leadership
effectiveness; and
* Tal Ben-Shahar, lecturer at Harvard University, conveying
the importance of embracing "Positive Psychology" in the
workplace
The exhibition will feature over 300 major suppliers of HR
products and services covering all aspects of people management
and development. Themed zones covering recruitment and talent
management, employee benefits and reward and HR software will
focus on specialist suppliers and a free showcase programme will
provide further insights into the latest developments, products
and services.
