"The greatest benefit of the certificate in training programme is that it forces students to abandon preconceptions, bad habits and muddled thinking. Refreshingly, it replaces all the old baggage with answers and structures of the full process of the training cycle. I’m conscious that I’ve learned such a lot and it’s been so relevant to my job." >

"The course was not the easiest studying I have ever done, but then that was to be expected for a masters qualification. The most difficult part of completing the course was finding a balance between work, family and study. However, since the course is by correspondence its flexibility was excellent. Academically speaking, I had no idea how far human resources management theories had developed ... there's a wealth of valuable thinking and research going on. The course material contained real practical applications in my job."

"This is a great achievement. As an HRM Professional, this Diploma provided me with an opportunity to benchmark academic literature to the practical reality of the HRM Profession. I believe that the Best-in-Class Corporations have HRM Departments that are able to maintain effective communication as well as nurture and further develop the necessary Human Resource Touch. Undoubtedly the local FHRD and >Leicester University are the choice for my MSc programe."

"The course has provided me with the flexibility to study in my own time. Moreover, a great deal of support was available both from the University of Leicester, as well as the Foundation for Human Resource Development here in Malta. Academically, it opened up a whole new world for me. I became more apt at analysing situations and at presenting arguments. I great encourage anyone interested, to join in this challenging and self developing learning experience."

"From a personal perspective the diploma course was a key contributor to enhance my performance at work, by striving to achieve organisational aims without disregarding individual personal needs. The course excels in the ability to link academic theory with real life situations, which makes the course applicable as a pivotal tool not only to HR professionals but certainly to every leader."

"As Social Sciences have always been of interest to me, taking up HRM and Training from Diploma to Master Degree level with Leicester University helped me to gain a thorough knowledge of this field. Choosing a well-organized distance learning course fitted well with my family commitments, while enhancing my personal and professional development."

"I entered the world of work right after sixth form. However so many years later, I realised that although I had plenty of work experience, I was lacking that qualification. Working in a Human Resource environment, I decided to read for a Diploma in Human Resource Management. It has definitely given me a clearer understanding on the subject, as well as more confidence in what I am doing. It's definitely never too late to learn!"
Sandra Agius - Diploma in Human Resource Management |
"A true learning experience. The literature provided in-depth knowledge about research carried out in the fields of Human Resource Management and Training. The wealth of findings from studies done in different work contexts provide an array of options for the adoption of best practices in my particular work context."

"Having selected this particular course based on the positive feedback received from colleagues, it has proved to be a true eye-opener to a new concept of training and development which was not the main thrust of my line of work. It was not easy however it was worth the effort put into."
Joseph Bonello - Diploma in Training & Development |
"Everyone knows how difficult it is to find time to study whilst ensuring that your work, and family life, do not suffer. Being a full-time worker with a husband and a four-year old child, I knew this first-hand after having attained a Diploma in management through conventional methods, i.e. evening classes. Due to these factors I chose to read for a Masters degree in Training and Human Resource Management via distance learning. During these two years I have received outstanding administrative support from the local agents, the Foundation for Human Resources Development - especially Ms Daniela Gouder. The academic support from the Centre for Labour Studies of the University of Leicester has been just as good, with all my numerous queries being satisfactorily answered within 24 hours! Now, two years later, I am awaiting the final results from the External Examinations Board and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this method of learning to anyone."

"Doing my Masters at the University of Leicester through FHRD means I was able to follow a professional study programme, supported by excellent tutors and logistical support, while maintaining my job and having the flexibility to study at the most unconventional hours!!"
Edel Cassar - MSc Training and Human Resource Management |
"The M.Sc. in Training and HRM programme has introduced me to the principles, theoretical linkages and the methodologies related to the relative topics. Key debates and current issues were presented in a wide selection of readings which facilitates students to develop a sense of critical reflection. The outcome has resulted in a very positive and functional outcome which has enhanced my practice enormously".

The course was of very good help to me during the performance of my duties as a Personal Assistant to the Director Human Resources of SLH. Today after achieving my diploma, in my opinion it helps me to deal better with day to day matters in a more efficient manner.
The way the courses are designed makes it easy for those students who have dropped out of school quite a long time ago. The course material leads you step by step to the project which I have found very easy to follow. Both my colleague Alexis and I would have found it very useful if the text books had page reference in the back pages. We used to waste a number of hours trying to find out where we read the particular subject or article. Having a tutor at your disposition 7 days a week is of great help. If you need to ask him/her something he is just an email away even on Sundays. For me it was very useful because I used to study on Sundays. The set up of these courses are very easy to follow and in a year's time you could also continue with Masters studies. Denise Abela – Diploma in Human Resource Management
