The Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD) organized its Human Resources Awards Ceremony on Friday 28th November at the Hilton Malta, Portomaso, St Julian’s.

Now in its seventh year, theses HR Awards are among the main highlights of the FHRD as they fall in line with its mission to promote human resource management and development as well as to raise the human resource profession in the Maltese Islands.

These awards are aimed at officially and formally recognising those entities and organisations, irrespective of their size and sector they operate in, which would have invested in their people and adopted innovative human resources practices.

The five organisations receiving their awards this year were:

  • Deloitte and Adpro-Instruments Ltd for the Excellence in People Management (Malta) Award

  • Grand Hotel Excelsior for the Excellence in Training & Development Award
  • Mater Dei Hospital and PriceWaterhouseCoopers for the Excellent Training & Development Initiative Award

The special award offered by the Foundation for Human Resources Development and the Centre for Labour Market Studies within the University of Leicester was this year given to the Grand Hotel Excelsior.

Before announcing the awards, the nominees and distinguished guests were addressed by Mr. Noel Scerri, FHRD President and Mr. John Muscat Drago, Director on the FHRD Board. The respective Assessors Boards Chairpersons namely Mr. Roderick Cutajar and Ms Jozie Devoy also presented their assessment reports. The ceremony which was sponsored by Studio 7, Malta International Airport and Bank of Valletta was presented by the FHRD Administration Executive, Sandra Agius.
