Nectar and POYC Awarded Best Practices in HR

In their eleventh edition, The Foundation for Human Resources Development celebrated The Malta People Awards, in an outstanding ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Golden Bay.
Excitement is pretty much the word that sums up the whole picture of the event, with the nominees having high hopes in winning their respective awards. The achievers had very good reason to celebrate as the bar was raised much higher than in previous years.
This year 12 companies nominated for 7 awards and the Overall HR Excellence Award, were evaluated for the top two positions in each category and the best two applications were evaluated for to be nominated for the particular award.
In 2012 there were seven categories and the ‘Overall HR Excellence Award’ which is sponsored by Castille Resources.
The seven categories were:
1. People Management Impact on Business Success sponsored by Go plc
2. Employee Engagement sponsored by the Malta International Airport
3. Excellence through Innovation sponsored by Malta Information Technology Agency
4. Learning and Development sponsored by Actavis
5. Performance and Reward sponsored by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc
6. Equal Opportunities sponsored by the Ministry for Justice, Dialogue and the Family
7. Staff Wellness sponsored by FTIAS
Overall HR Excellence Award:
The Overall HR Excellence Award was NOT awarded, however the companies participating in this Category, Nectar and POYC, were presented with a recognition for Best practices in HR

The were no nominations for the Awards on People Impact on Business success.
During her opening speech, the President of the Foundation Ms Annika Galea said that greater emphasis was being placed on higher standards of HR practice and therefore the value of the Malta People Awards was increasing substantially.
