Date: Friday, 6 March 2009
Time: 02:00pm – 05.00pm
Meeting Place: OPM Reception
Castille Place, Valletta
(Entrance: St. Paul’s Street)
The FHRD Human Resource Network Programme aims to strengthen the networks
between the local Human Resource professionals including all those who lead,
manage and develop people.
At the Foundation, we believe that networking yields to shared knowledge/ideas and more learning which can enhance HR/organisational practices and systems. It also enhances business relationships and can thus strengthen the HR Community on the Maltese islands. With this premise, this initiative is aimed to create a synergy between different HR professionals from diverse social sectors, by offering opportunities to visit, share and learn from different organisational set-ups.
The next visit will be held at the Management and Personnel Office, within the Office of the Prime Minister. The Management and Personnel Office is the Public Administration’s central HR Unit. It is composed of three separate directorates (Resourcing, Employee Relations and HR Systems and Data Management) which are mainly responsible for the formulation and promotion of progressive human resource policies, strategies and management systems, in support of the business of Government.
Dr. G. Grima, Principal Permanent Secretary, will be hosting HR/Training professionals and students at the Management and Personnel Office, Office of the Prime Minister, Castille Place, Valletta.
Following the Principal Permanent Secretary’s opening address, Director (Policy Research) will be conducting a presentation (approx 20 minutes) on HR Management in the Public Service.
MPO Directors will then be presenting a brief overview (approx. 15 minutes each) of each respective directorate and its main HR function.
The final presentation will be conducted by the Staff Development Organisation (OPM) which is responsible for training and human resources development policy in the Public Service.
A short tour will conclude the visit.
All those interested to join this Network Programme are kindly requested to send an e-mail to Ms Sandra Agius on sagius@fhrd.org confirming their attendance. Priority will be given to FHRD members. Please note that you will need to bring your ID Card with you for this visit.
