MONITORING H&S STANDARDS AT WORK

Course Title	Monitoring H&S Standards at Work
Course Content	This course is designed to explore the role of monitoring within an overall management system. It seeks to offer ideas about how performance can be checked and monitored to ensure that risk controls work effectively. Course content consists of: ·         Management systems and the role of monitoring. ·         Reactive systems eg. Accidents. ·         Proactive systems eg. Audits. ·         Accident/incident investigation. ·         Inspections and audits. ·         Common definitions
Course Objective	Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to: ·         Understand the key elements of a health and safety management system. ·         Understand how monitoring fits into such a system. ·         Define the meaning of the terms “proactive” and “reactive” monitoring. ·         Identify specific monitoring methods. ·         Develop a monitoring strategy.
Target Audience	Middle managers and supervisors trying to develop monitoring systems.  Anyone likely to participate in safety inspections etc.
