Reflections on 2007 HRD Conference
Foundation for Human Resources Development
The F.H.R.D. co-ordinated the visit of four delegates to attend the HRD Conference in London. Here is what they had to say about this experience:
Omar Bitar, ExPekt.com Ltd.: "I found the HRD Conference at ExCel, in London, very useful. Apart from the number of relevant seminars and workshops I attended, I found great value in walking around in the exhibition hall. "Not only would you find a number of potential HR-related service providers, but also interesting and often humorous presentations by a number of senior HR practitioners about different HR issues."
Sarah Elgar, Malta Communications Authority: "I thoroughly enjoyed the HRD conference. The topics were very interesting and the venue was well catered for and easy to get to. The CIPD annual conference, normally held in Harrogate towards the end of each year, however, offers more of a variety and I definitely recommend HR practitioners to attend at least once"!
Maronna Filletti, M. Demajo Group: "My participation at the CIPD HR conference in London proved beneficial as it covered topics of a strategic nature. The master classes were of particular benefit, having being chaired by experts in their field, and the workshops gave one the practical aspects that one needs in the day-to-day HR activities. All in all a very satisfying experience."
George Spiteri, Malta Financial Services Authority: "I would like to thank the management of the MFSA for making possible my participation for this esteemed event, organised by the CIPD and well co-ordinated locally by the FHRD. I view this experience to be fruitful as we were given the opportunity to network and establish new local and international relationships, which will be useful in our continuous learning through sharing of experiences. Participants were also given the opportunity to participate actively in workshops facilitated by high-level experts on different specialised topics, such as the latest techniques in measuring and evaluating training." Furthermore, it was a unique opportunity to meet various providers and to discover new HR-related products available in the market at the exhibition, which was open during the three-day period of the conference."
