Training experts in co-operation deal

Foundation for Human Resources Development

Two of Malta's established training organisations have entered into a co-operative arrangement with the Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD) to further expand their provision and create a one-stop-shop for their clients.

These are Minding International, represented by Ms Stephanie Ceccato, marketing director and an accredited De Bono Trainer, and the Institute of Health & Safety Ltd, represented by Chris Hudson, director of Training and Consultant on occupational health and safety.

These are further opportunities the FHRD is offering to the public and private sectors. By applying the de Bono tools, those who manage people and organisations can improve a number of skills, among which decision-making and problem-solving skills, teamwork and employee/customer satisfaction.

Health and safety at work is also an issue that requires skilled management and the courses offered by the Institute of Health and Safety would definitely be of great benefit for employers and employees. Some of the courses offered by both organisations are accredited by professional bodies, offering participants valid certification for further career progression.

An area that is less focused on in most training courses is the management of emotions. Organisations are made of people who bring with them not only expertise and talents but also emotions, attitudes and behaviour.

These aspects of the human being have a great impact on how people perform and relate with each other. So special skills and knowledge is needed by those who manage people.

The FHRD has engaged Dr Paul Micallef, clinical psychologist and a consultant/advisor in staff training and retraining, who will be delivering a course on how to manage people and their emotions more effectively.

The course is spread over 10 sessions starting on February 15, covering 40 hours of training.

The FHRD is encouraging all those who are interested in these courses to book early. For more information browse through the FHRD Website: www.fhrd.org, where a registration form can be downloaded and faxed to 2138-1945.
